New Good Omens Fic: "What to Do When the Clock Just Stops" - A/C, Others - R [08 Feb 2011|06:18pm]

Title: What to Do When the Clock Just Stops
Pairing/Characters: Aziraphale/Crowley, some familiar faces, various OCs
Rating: R
Word Count: 7,700
Notes: Written for tea_fiend on account of her very generous donation of $100 to the charity of her choice in helpbrazil2011. This story follows A Better Place and The Walls, the Wainscot, and the Mouse, rounding the set off as a trilogy. I've done a hardcore, no-nonsense Apocalyptic AU where people get hurt and even die, but what about a low-key, domestic apocalypse, a more benign take on that same universe? Anyway, I'm giving it my best shot here. A note on the timeline: The Walls, the Wainscot, and the Mouse is happening in late 2005, and the flash-forward three months that you get in A Better Place puts them in early 2006 (yes, WW&M is a bit of a flash-backward within the context of ABP). This piece picks up a bit further down the line: it's happening now. Expect the odd hidden easter-egg, etc.
Summary: Wherein not forwarding one's post turns out to have been a bad idea.

New Good Omens Fic: "Regulars" - Aziraphale/Crowley, Various - PG13 [28 Feb 2010|02:19pm]

Title: Regulars
Fandom: Good Omens
Pairing/Characters: Aziraphale/Crowley, various local strangers
Rating: PG-13
Notes: This story exists purely because I was hypothesizing about how Crowley's downstairs neighbor perceives him. From there, I got to thinking about London as they inhabit it—the neighborhoods in which they live, the locations they've made their regular haunts. Who watches them, I wonder, and what do they see in looking? I've broken this piece down into five different locations, one outside perspective for each.
Summary: You can't live somewhere or frequent a place for any length of time without others taking notice. In fact, you may not even notice them.

The big Remix Redux reveal = new Good Omens fic! [26 Jul 2009|09:08pm]

So. I wrote the following, but I think a lot of you will have guessed...

Title: Fever Dreams (The Five Times Remix)
Pairing: Aziraphale/Crowley
Rating: R
Original Story: Of Coffee and Sadism, by emerald_embers
Summary: Four times Crowley avoided flirting with Aziraphale, and one time he failed miserably. In which coffee is relevant, but English weather is not.

(Fever Dreams [The Five Times Remix])

New GO Fic: "Catching Shadows" - Aziraphale/Crowley - R [15 Jul 2009|03:57pm]

Title: Catching Shadows
Pairing: Aziraphale/Crowley
Rating: R
Notes: Double Blind was something of an unexpected hit (not unlike Survivors' Guilt back in the day, come to think of it). Therefore, by polling and popular request, it's becoming the prologue to this slightly longer piece. I've decided to maintain present tense with the follow-up, even though that's always risky; drawing back a step into past might ruin the immediacy. Let me know if it was the wrong choice. Oh—and for U.S. readers who might be unfamilar with the parlance, sharps are needles, in a pretty specific sense (believe me, I had no idea what the hell that word meant when I first moved over here four years ago). Armed with that, I'm sure you'll get it from the context. Otherwise, this is pretty unashamed cocoa-and-book!porn. Enjoy.
Summary: Surreptitiousness has its merits, but it'll only go so far.

Ballerina (Richard/Door, PG-13)

Revolving Doors (Marquis/Richard, PG-13)

From Delight to Delirium: A Sandman Fanmix [27 Feb 2009|02:50pm]

Medium: Comic Book
Fandom: Neil Gaiman’s Sandman
Subject: Delirium
Title: From Delight to Delirium
Notes: Because Tori Amos is so closely associated with the character of Delirium I’ve tried to go in a different direction with this mix and have intentionally used songs by other artists. This is my first fanmix. All songs are in MP3 format. The art for this album includes an image of Delight drawn by Jill Thompson from the Sandman comic book. The rest is done by me.

New GO fic, now that the Exchange reveal is live: [07 Jan 2009|07:40pm]

Title: The Garden in Winter
Written for: aviss in the 2008 go_exchange
Rating: PG-13
Characters/Pairing: Adam & Pepper (possible shades of Adam/Pepper)
Notes: It's so rare that I get the opportunity to write about these kids, and even rarer still when I get the chance to write about them all grown up (or, as the case may be, in the process of growing up). This, therefore, is a glimpse into their future - although I can't promise it's entirely comprised of warm-fuzzies! Some of you might even recognize that this is a puzzle-piece in a much, much larger picture.
Summary: How do you live when the fate of the world is eternally at your whims?

(The Garden in Winter)

New Good Omens fic: "Two Ways About It" - Azirphale/Crowley - R [05 Sep 2008|06:06pm]

Title: Two Ways About It
Pairing: Aziraphale/Crowley
Rating: R
Notes: This is...welcome at best, I think, and terribly random at worst. It's as if I'm only just now emerging from some long nap I'd never intended to take. Either that or the muses are really starting to let me know I've hit critical mass as far as the number of fandoms on which I can spend energy - and which ones I'm neglecting!
Summary: It's never as you had expected, and always more than you'd dreamed.

(If anyone had told Crowley it would happen during the 1992 Eurovision Song Contest, he'd have told them they were bloody insane.)

This is, perhaps, an unusual crossover: [21 Aug 2008|05:17pm]

Title: Rivalries
Fandom: The Dark Knight (Nolanverse)/Sandman crossover. Yes, I've cracked.
Pairing/Characters: Batman/Joker, nearly all of the Endless
Rating: PG-13/R
Notes: As with The Dreams of Others, I'm once again compelled to see what an injection of graphic-novel influence will do to the Nolanverse. Granted, the Endless are not going to be interacting with anybody directly; this story's more an exploration of what meddling they might be doing just beyond the fabric of reality. It seems to me that the Endless would take a keen interest in such an epic struggle as this one (or passing interest, depending on which one of them we're talking about). This time, my apologies are not only to Dave McKean, but also to Neil Gaiman. Sir, I worship the 'net you blog on; you'd have my head for the Good Omens infractions alone.
Summary: Kindred is as kindred does, and humans aren't any different.

(I. Twins / II. Brothers / III. Companions / IV. Lovers)

Different Than A Dream (Wanda/Desire) [19 Jun 2008|04:41pm]

Author: Bitterfig
Title: Different Than A Dream
Fandom: Sandman
Pairing: Desire/Wanda
Summary: It happened years before Wanda met Barbie or Thessaly or Hazel or Foxglove. Years before she heard of the Endless or the Dream King or any of the magic weirdness that got her killed.
Beta Reader: Fedink
Word Count: 454
Rating: Adult
Warnings: Explicit sexual content.
Author’s Note: Written for the porn_battle prompt “Sandman, Desire/any, gender is a construct that never did constrain her.”

(Different Than A Dream)
Every ending is a new beginning

A Picnic Near Alpha Centauri (Harry Potter/Sandman Crossover) [10 Jun 2008|08:05pm]

Author: Bitterfig
Title: A Picnic Near Alpha Centauri
Fandom: Crossover- Harry Potter/Sandman
Pairing; Luna Lovegood & Despair
Summary: When Luna is locked up during the war, Despair comes for her and finds herself a bit baffled by Miss Lovegood’s outlook.
Beta Reader: Fedink
Word Count: 1945
Rating: PG
Warnings: None
Author’s Note: Written for yuri_challenge prompt: Sandman/Harry Potter Lovegood Luna/Despair Luna as an inadvertent avatar of Delirium attracts Despair's attention during the War. As it turns out it’s a bit more gen than femslash...

(A Picnic Near Alpha Centauri)
Every ending is a new beginning

Striking into yet more uncharted territory: [17 Feb 2008|09:58pm]

Title: The Price of Debt
Fandom: Neverwhere
Characters: Marquis de Carabas (and others)
Rating: PG-13
Notes: This is my third and final pledged Sweet Charity goodie (for Tuesday – many, many thanks!) She requested a Neverwhere story that centers on the Marquis, and this will, as a result, be my first time writing in this fandom (is there anything resembling a Neverwhere fandom? Something to explore, I suppose). In any case, this was hardly a chore, as the Marquis has always been one of my favorite characters.
Summary: A man can learn many things from a brush with death – if he so chooses.

(The worst part about it, de Carabas reflected, wasn't even the scar.)

A piece of strangeness for you: [28 Jul 2007|12:15am]

Title: Where Fate Finds You
Fandoms: Heroes & Sandman
Characters: Charlie, Lucien, & various others
Rating: PG
Notes: My apologies for the lateness of this story, as well as for the fact that I mislaid the email and therefore no longer have the name of the person for whom it's intended! Therefore, this goes out to whoever requested a story wherein Charlie finds herself in Dream's library after her death (because that, I remember with absolute certainty: I think it's a brilliant request, and this was an enjoyable piece to write!)
Summary: The title's based on a piece of Mohinder's bad voice-over philosophizing at the end of "Seven Minutes to Midnight." For once, he hit the nail on the head, as Fate can, indeed, find any of us wherever it may wish.

(Charlie Andrews remembers two different versions of her death, but neither one of them clearly.)

Fic Post: Temptation [05 Jun 2007|12:39am]

[ mood | weird ]

Fandom: Murder Mysteries
Title: Temptation
Rating: PG13 for...sexless sex?
Characters: Carasel/Saraquael, Lucifer/Azazel
Summary: It's not the fall that kills you.
A/N: This is an experiment on putting two different threads of a story together, since I needed to practice that for the NNoD. It's set to Murder Mysteries because rapunzelita is tres fantastique and introduced me to a very nice reader's theatre version of the short story. Murder Mysteries itself has always been one of my favorite short stories. Much thanks as always to marilla82 for the beta, and to monochromed for impromptu 'wtf checking'.

( How strange. Carasel was the first to love, but Lucifer was the first to shed tears. )

Whee! New fic (and new member)! :3 [10 Mar 2007|07:31pm]

[ mood | cheerful ]

Er, hi. I joined this community through Fandom Wank (Don't ask XD), and I have this fairly goofy Good Omens fic. So I'm posting it.

Title: Assigning Blame
Pairings/Characters: Crowley/Aziraphale, mention of a few historical and current political figures.
Summary: Crowley and Aziraphale get a little tipsy and talk about work, specifically what they do and don't like about the other's.
Rating: PG-13 for language and implied sex
A/N: Many, many points and internet cookies for whoever guesses either the politician, the city he's from, or both. :D Hint: He wasn't actually born in the city, but he did live there (if that helps at all).

“You read fanfiction?”Collapse )

I was wondering if anyone has made any Mirrormask Icons?

I have some pictures and such downloaded, but my icon making abilities are severly lacking.

I would pass on hugs and cookies to anyone who could make or point me to some good Mirrormask icons!
8 Dreams | Every ending is a new beginning

Something that was just shy of collecting dust. [09 Aug 2006|10:31pm]

Title: A Better Place
Pairing/Characters: Aziraphale/Crowley, plus a cast of some originals (and some familiar, friendly faces if you look closely).
Rating: PG-13, I imagine, for various things I can and can't classify.
Notes: This piece was the underpinnings for what linnpuzzle and I have been calling the Downs Project for quite some time now. Unfortunately, after all this time, we've decided that it doesn't quite make a good collaboration of the sort we wanted it to be, at least not at this point in time, so it has reverted to a solo piece. I wrote this a few days after the Cambridge signing where Neil answered my question about the South Downs; I had a sense of peace in those days like I hadn't had for a while, and the piece that emerged has a rather quiet and strange air about it. The challenge I set to myself was this: to write what I would want to see if I had one last chance to have a glimpse at Aziraphale, Crowley, and the Good Omens world in general, and let it go into the mist. A Crown of Stars had been a bit traumatic, so, in the wake of that, this piece was sort of my reconciliation with the violence I'd inflicted.
Summary: When is a house more than just a house? And what of the people inside it?

An update, at last: [23 Jun 2006|10:48pm]

Title: With Eyes Closed
Story & Illustrations by: puzzlebleuink
Fandom: Good Omens
Pairing: Aziraphale/Crowley
Rating: R
Notes: The lyrics we were assigned in the two_of_us_fic challenge are from "Strawberry Fields Forever": Living is easy with eyes closed/Misunderstanding all you see. This story can be read as a stand-alone, but it can also be read as the third in a continuum that begins with Seaside and Undertow respectively. We felt that continuing the odd, patchwork pedigree that this universe has accrued over time was somewhat appropriate.
Summary: Like certain other aspects of love, certainty is sometimes overrated.

(After last year's late trip to the sea, summer in London seemed stifling.)
